Vanguard is a wide area surveillance system which combines the Arkonia Guardian Sensor capability with CCTV cameras that have integral telemetry receivers. The system is primarily designed to enhance the security of conference centres, VIP residences, airfields etc.
Vanguard is a surveillance system which combines the Arkonia Guardian Sensor capability with CCTV cameras that have integral telemetry receivers. The camera unit has a continuous pan capability as well as tilt, zoom and other control functions.
When an intrusion is detected by triggering a Guardian sensor, it transmits an alarm to the monitoring station via its built in transmitter. This data is decoded at the monitoring station and is used to send the appropriate data to the camera station to cue the camera to the area of intrusion. The video image is then transmitted over an encrypted microwave link for display at the monitoring station. The monitoring station also features a digital map display which indicates the location and direction of travel of the intruder.
In a multiple camera system each camera operates on a different microwave frequency allowing the video images from all cameras to be received simultaneously.
