Hornet Radar Sensor
- • Programmable for specific roles
- • No training required
- • Wide area coverage
- • Low power consumption
- • Automatic classification of target
The HORNET Sensor is a small portable unit that consists of a microwave Doppler radar module, which is activated by detection of a target using a Passive Infra-Red Detector (PIR) mounted on its top surface.
The radar return is analysed by a microprocessor utilising a Fast Fourier Transform with pattern recognition to classify the detected target. On completion, an encoded message is transmitted to a miniature receiver which indicates on its display the target direction and type of target detected. i.e. Man Left to Right, Vehicle Right to Left etc".
