CYGNUS is a compact sensor activated camera unit. When activated the unit will take a snapshot picture and transmit as an email attachment over the cellular network to a PC or phone, as required.
When movement is detected in front of the CYGNUS unit,the integral passive infra red detector is activated and triggers the camera to take a snapshot picture. This picture is a high resolution colour image which is compressed and formatted into a JPEG file, that is then instantaneously transmitted over the GSM/GPRS service to the intended recipients email account.
The unit has a an integral 7.2v/2.2Ah Lithium Ion rechargeable battery with a life of 50 hours, dependant on the detection rate. CYGNUS has the capability of transmitting 1000 images in between battery recharging.
The unit has a colour CMOS CCD camera which, along with the PIR detector, is housed at the front of the unit. Two status LEDs are fitted to the rear of the unit which indicate GSM/GPRS system status and Battery condition.
The CYGNUS has a 40M detection range with a detection width of 6M (at 40M).
