The ARK7044 GPS Switch Unit has been designed to MIL-E-16400 for shipborne use. The equipment operates from a 115v AC power supply, housed in a chassis suitable for mounting to bulkheads.
The ARK7044-1 GPS Switch Unit provides the facility to select between two antennas for a GPS receiver, in the frequency range 1250MHz to 1600MHz. The equipment incorporates a coaxial relay switch with associated control logic. The unit is controlled from either a Remote Control Unit by means of a parallel control port consisting of six TTL data lines, or using local front panel control. The equipment also incorporates an RF attenuator in line with the GPS receiver port to ensure that the receiver is not overloaded.
